Question 40

In a certain code language, ‘DRAUGH’ is written as ‘LKYEVH’. What is the code for ‘MAHTOS’ in that code language?

Solution

The letters of alphabet is written corresponding to the number{A-1,B-2,C-3,D-4,E-5,F-6 ........................... X-24,Y-25.Z-26}

‘DRAUGH’ is written as ‘LKYEVH’

now add 4 to each  numerical value of each letter

D(4) + 4 = 8 (H) { we know H is 8}

R(18) + 4 = 22(V)

A(1) + 4 = 5 (E)

U(21) +4 = 25 (Y)

G(7) + 4 = 11 (K)

H(8) + 4 = 12 (L)

we obtained "HVEYKL" now reverse this to get the answer "LKYEVH"

following the same pattern

MAHTOS

adding 4 to each letter

M(13) + 4 = 17(Q)

A(1) + 4 = 5(E)

H(8) + 4 = 12(L)

T(20) + 4 = 24(X)

O(15) + 4 = 19(S)

S(19) + 4 = 23(W)

we get "QELXSW" now reverse it we get

WSXLEQ
