Question 38

A solution contains 42 g of common salt in 320 g of water. Calculate the concentration in terms of mass by mass percentage of the solution?

Mass of solute - NaCl $$=42gm$$

Mass of solvent - water $$=320$$ gm

Mass of solution $$=(42+320)$$ gm $$=362$$gm

Concentration in terms of Mass by mass percentage $$=\frac{mass  of  solute}{mass  of  solution} \times 100$$

$$=\frac{42}{362} \times 100=11.60\%$$

Option C is correct.
