Question 36

The areas of seven circles C1, C2, C3, C4, C5, C6 and C7 are compared. The area of C2 is greater than C5 and less than C1. The area of C4 is greater than C7 and less than C6. The area of C5 is more than C6. If the area of C7 is the lowest, then which of the following options can be correct?

Solution

The area of C2 is greater than C5 and less than C1.

C1>C2>C5    Eq.(i)

The area of C4 is greater than C7 and less than C6. The area of C5 is more than C6.

C5>C6>C4>C7    Eq.(ii)

From Eq.(i) and Eq.(ii).

C1>C2>C5>C6>C4>C7

If the area of C7 is the lowest.

Option (a) C5 < C4

As per the information given in the question, C5 > C4. So this option cannot be true.

Option (c) C4 > C1

As per the information given in the question, C1 > C4. So this option cannot be true.

Option (d) C4 > C2

As per the information given in the question, C2 > C4. So this option cannot be true.

Option (b) C3 > C6

There is not any information available about C3 and other options are definitely false. So this can be the possible relation and become the best possible answer among the given options.
