Question 36

Select the number that can replace the question mark (?) in the given number series.
5, 9, 16, 29, ?, 103

Solution

$$\left(13\times\ 2\right)-1=25$$Given,

5, 9, 16, 29, ?, 103

There is a certain pattern followed in the differences between the terms,

The pattern followed here is :

we have differences 4 , 7 , 13

$$\left(4\times\ 2\right)-1=7$$

$$\left(7\times\ 2\right)-1=13$$

Similarly, $$\left(13\times\ 2\right)-1=25$$

So, The number which replace the question mark is : 29 + 25 = 54

Hence, Option A is correct.
