Question 36

In a certain code language, 'AGC' is coded as '42', and 'BAD' is coded as '16’. How will 'KIC' be coded in that language?

Solution

The product of the place values of the letters within the word is multiplied by 2 to obtain the code.

AGC ==> $$1\times7\times3$$ = 21 ==> $$21\times2$$ = 42

BAD ==> $$2\times1\times4$$ = 8 ==> $$8\times2$$ = 16

KIC ==> $$11\times9\times3$$ = 297 ==> $$297\times2$$ = 594

Hence 'KIC' will be coded as '594' in that language.
