In the following Three questions, a series is given, with one of term missing. Choose the correct alternative from the given ones that will complete the series.

1, 5, 13, 25, 41, 61, ?

Solution

Given series is 1, 5, 13, 25, 41, 61, ?

5 - 1 = 4

13 - 5 = 8

25 - 13 = 12

41 - 25 = 16

61 - 41 = 20

The difference between consecutive numbers is multiple of 4

$$\Rightarrow$$ The next difference is 24

$$\therefore\ $$Required number = 61 + 24 = 85

Hence, the correct answer is Option A
