Question 35

What will come in the place of ‘?’ in the following equation, if ‘+’ and ‘$$\times$$ ‘ are interchanged and also ‘5’ and ‘9’ are interchanged?
$$3 + 9 - 6 \times 5 \div 3 = ?$$

Solution

= $$3 + 9 - 6 \times 5 \div 3$$

If ‘+’ and ‘$$\times$$ ‘ are interchanged and also ‘5’ and ‘9’ are interchanged, then a new equation is formed which is given below.
= $$3 \times 5 - 6 + 9 \div 3$$

= $$15 - 6 + 3$$

= 9 + 3

= 12
