In a certain code language, "RAIN" is written as "45" and "GOOD" is written as "44". How is "DROP" written in that code language?
"RAIN" is written as "45"
If we number the alphabets sequentially, i.e. A=1, B=2, C=3 and so on.
Then the number in the right is equal to the sum of numbers corresponding to the alphabets and '3'.
Eg :- RAIN $$\equiv(18+1+9+14)+3=45$$
and GOODÂ $$\equiv(7+15+15+4)+3=44$$
Similarly, DROPÂ $$\equiv(4+18+15+16)+3=56$$
=> Ans - (B)
