Solution

According to the given series it is multiple by 2 and subtract by 1 for example :

56$$\left(56\times\ 2-1\right)$$, 111$$\left(111\times\ 2\ -\ 1\right)$$, 221$$\left(221\times\ 2-1\right)$$, 441$$\left(441\times\ 2\ -\ 1\right)$$, 881$$\left(881\times\ 2\ -\ 1\right)$$, 1761
So the series next number is 1761, Hence option C, is the correct answer
