Question 27

Eight boys A, B, C, D, E, F, G and H are sitting around a square table, facing towards the centre(but not necessarily in the same order). Two boys are sitting on each side. G and C are sitting on the same side. E is sitting opposite to G and E is to the immediate right of B. F and H are sitting on the same side. H is fourth to the left of B. D is not the immediate neighbour of G. Which of the following pairs of boys represent the boys sitting on the same side of the square table?

Solution

H is fourth to the left of B.

Here B is possible in two places which are given below in Case(i) and Case(ii).

F and H are sitting on the same side.

E is sitting opposite to G and E is to the immediate right of B.

In Case(i), G is not possible as per the above-given condition. So this case is eliminated.

G and C are sitting on the same side. D is not the immediate neighbour of G.

Now only 'A' is remaining which can be placed in the blank space.

As per the above given options, only BA represents the boys sitting on the same side of the square table.
