Question 26

If ‘A’ means ‘+’, ‘B’ means ‘-’, ‘C’ means ‘$$\times$$’, and ‘D’ means ‘$$\div$$’, what will come in place of the question mark (?) in the following equation?
44 A 36 B 60 D 30 C 5 = ?

Solution

= 44 A 36 B 60 D 30 C 5

If ‘A’ means ‘+’, ‘B’ means ‘-’, ‘C’ means ‘$$\times$$’, and ‘D’ means ‘$$\div$$’.

= $$44 + 36 - 60 \div 30 \times 5$$

= $$44+36-\frac{60}{30}\times5$$

= $$44+36-2\times5$$

= $$80-10$$

= 70
