Given $$f(x) = x^2 + \log_{3} x$$ and $$g(y) = 2y + f(y)$$, the value of g(3) equals

$$g(y) = 2y + f(y)$$ 

$$g(y) = 2y + y^2 + \log_{3}y$$

$$g(3) = 2(3) + 3^2 + \log_{3}3$$

$$g(3) = 6 + 9 + 1$$

$$g(3) = 16$$
