Solution

Expression : 8 x 9 + 2 = 74

(A) : x and =, 2 and 9

$$\equiv8=2+9\times74$$

R.H.S. $$=666+2=668\neq$$ L.H.S.

(B) : x and +, 8 and 2

$$\equiv2+9\times8=74$$

L.H.S. $$=2+72=74=$$ R.H.S.
