How many triangles are there in the following figure ?

When the line passing from the vertices and touching the base, then it is making n+1 triangle, and when line passing cutting horizontally as compare to the base then the total number of triangle = total number of horizontal line.

There are four triangle of type 1, so total triangle $$= 4\times 3=12$$

There are 8 triangles of type 2, so total number of triangle $$=8\times2= 16$$

Two individual triangle = 2

hence total sum of the triangles $$=12+16+2=30$$
