A boy walking at the speed of 4 km/hr covers a certain distance in 6 hours 15 minutes. If he covers the same distance by cycle in 5 hours, then what is the speed (in km/hr) of the cycle?

Solution

Walking speed of boy = 4 km/hr

Time taken = 6 hrs 15 minutes = $$6\frac{1}{4}$$ hours

=> Distance travelled = $$4\times\frac{25}{4}=25$$ km

Now, time taken to cover the same distance on cycle = 5 hours

=> Speed of cycle = $$\frac{25}{5}=5$$ km/hr

=> Ans - (B)
