Addition in first year: 18,000

Addition in fifth year: 36,000
Addition in sixth year: 40,500
Addition in seventh year: 45,000
Addition in eighth year: 49,500

Hence, population at the end of eighth year = 2,70,000 + 3,00,000 = 5,70,000
