In the following problem, '=' stands for '÷' , '+' stands for '-' , 'x' stands for '=', '-' stands for '+' and '÷' stands for 'x'. Find the correct equation.

Solution

'=' stands for '÷' , '+' stands for '-' , 'x' stands for '=', '-' stands for '+' and '÷' stands for 'x'

(A) : 8 ÷ 4 + 1 - 5 = 6 x 4

$$\equiv8\times4-1+5\div6=4$$

L.H.S. = $$32-1+0.83=31.83\neq$$ R.H.S.

(B) : 4 x 6 ÷ 4 + 4 = 7

$$\equiv4=6\times4-4\div7$$

R.H.S. = $$24-0.57=23.43\neq$$ L.H.S.

(C) : 5 ÷ 3 - 25 + 20 = 20 x 39

$$\equiv5\times3+25-20\div20=39$$

L.H.S. = $$15+25-1=39=$$ R.H.S.

=> Ans - (C)
