Question 146

A single person takes 6 minutes to fill a bottle. If from 11 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. 1845 bottles are to be filled, how many persons should be employed on this job ?

Solution

Time taken by a single person to fill a bottle = 6 min

=> No. of bottles filled from 11 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. (i.e. 90 min) by a single person = $$\frac{90}{6}$$ = 15 bottles

$$\therefore$$ No. of persons required to fill 1845 bottles in 90 min

= $$\frac{1845}{15}$$ = 123
