Two men walk along the same direction at 4.5 km/hr and 5.75 km/hr respectively. If they start walking together at their respective speeds, how many kilometres apart are they at the end of 3.5 hours?

Solution

The man with the 4.5 km/h speed will reach after 3.5 hour= 3.5×4.5=15.75 km.

The man with the 5.75 km/h speed will reach after 3.5 hour= 5.75×3.5=20.125 km.

So they will be apart by (20.125-15.75) km or 4.375 km.

B is correct choice.
