2016 SSC CGL 10 Sep Tier-1 Question 14

Question 14

If 'x' means addition, ''- means division, '÷' means subtraction and '+' means multiplication, then which of the equations is correct?

Solution

(A) : 16 x 5 ÷ 10 + 4 - 3 = 19

$$\equiv16+5-10\times4\div3$$

L.H.S. = $$21-13.34=7.66\neq$$ R.H.S.

(B) : 16 + 5 ÷ 10 x 4 - 3 = 9

$$\equiv16\times5-10+4\div3$$

L.H.S. = $$80-10+1.34=71.34\neq$$ R.H.S.

(C) : 16 + 5 - 10 x 4 ÷ 3 = 9

$$\equiv16\times5\div10+4-3$$

L.H.S. = $$8+4-3=9=$$ R.H.S.

=> Ans - (C)
