The dog ran faster than the elephant but slower than the tiger, => Tiger > Dog > Elephant

Also, the deer was the fastest.

The lion ran faster than the tiger, => Lion > Tiger

Combining above statements, we get : Deer > Lion > Tiger > Dog > Elephant

$$\therefore$$ Lion was the second to ﬁnish the race.
