The number of men working in the Production department of the organization forms what percent of the total number of employees working in that department ?

Solution

Total number of employees in the production department

= $$\frac{136.8}{360} \times 3250 = 1235$$

=> Men working in production department

= $$\frac{4}{5} \times 1235 = 988$$

$$\therefore$$ Required % = $$\frac{988}{1235} \times 100$$

= $$\frac{4}{5} \times 100 = 80 \%$$


Shortcut : 

Ratio of men and women working in production department = 4 : 1

=> Required % of men = $$\frac{4}{4 + 1} \times 100 = 80 \%$$
