The percentage increase in the production of company Y from 1996 to 1999 is:

Production of company Y in 1996 (in lakhs tonnes) = 25
Production of company Y in 1999 (in lakhs tonnes) = 40
=> Required % increase = $$\frac{(40-25)}{25}\times100$$
= $$15\times4=60\%$$
