Solution
The perimeter of this semicircle is given by
$$2r+\pi\ r\ =\ 144$$
Solving this equation, we get: r = 28 cm
Hence, area of the semicircle is = $$\pi\ \frac{r^2}{2}=1232\ sq\ cm$$
