The perimeter of a semicircle is 144 cm. Then its area ( in sq.cms) is ( Here take $$\pi = \frac{22}{7}$$)

Solution

The perimeter of this semicircle is given by 
$$2r+\pi\ r\ =\ 144$$
Solving this equation, we get: r = 28 cm 

Hence, area of the semicircle is = $$\pi\ \frac{r^2}{2}=1232\ sq\ cm$$
