Tanmay got an increment of 15% in his salary. If his enhanced salary is ₹ 14,030. What was his original salary?

Solution

Suppose his original salary = x

then, his increment salary is = x × 15%

= $$15x\div 100$$

so his enhanced salary is = $$x+\frac {15x}{100}$$

but according the question his enhanced salary is = 14030

SO

$$x+ \frac {15x}{100} = 14030$$

=$$ \frac {100x+15x}{100} = 14030$$

= $$115x = 14030\times 100$$

$$x = 1403000\div 115$$

x = 12200

so original salary is 12200
