Introduction

The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) Exam, is conducted by the Government of India for the recruitment of grade officers for various posts under the ministerial wing.Ā The main posts for which candidates are recruited through the SSC exam are Examiner, Assistant CSS, Preventive Officer, Income Tax Inspector, Central Excise Inspector, Assistant Enforcement Officer, Sub-Inspector in CBI, Inspector of Posts, Auditor etc.

Syllabus

TheĀ  SSC CGL Exam will have English language, Reasoning, Quantitative aptitude and General Awareness commonly for all candidates. There will be Statistics/General Studies for some specific posts.

SSC CGL Tier-1 Exam Pattern:

  • Objective Based Online exam - 60 minutes
  • Negative marks - 0.5 marks
  • No Sectional Cutoff

SSC CGL Tier-3 Exam Pattern:

  • Graduate level (Difficulty)
  • Descriptive Paper - 100 marks (Pen and Paper)
  • You can write whole paper either in English or Hindi but not both
  • Exam Duration one hour
  • Essay Writing (200-250 Words)
  • Letter Writing (150-200 Words)
  • Qualifying marks in Tier-II exam (33% of total marks)

SSC CGL Tier-4 Exam Pattern:

Skill Test/Typing Test

Skill Test for some Posts which requires the knowledge of Typing:

  • English Typing and exam duration will be 15 minutes
  • Qualifying exam

Eligibility

Educational Qualification:

The Candidate should have a graduation from a recognised university.

For specific posts, you may need to fulfill the required conditions.

Compiler Bachelor degree having statistics/mathematics/economics as of the Subject
Statistical Investigator (Grade- 2 level) Bachelor degree having statistics as main subject (Or)
Bachelor's degree with Mathematics or Economics or Commerce (as statistics as one of the subject in any year)
Assistant Audit officer/Ā Assistant Accounts Officer MBA (Finance/Economics/Commerce) or CA or as per specified in the notification.

Age Limit:

SSC CGL Group-B:

Minimum: 20 Years

Maximum: 30 years

SSC CGL Group-C:

Minimum: 18 Years

Maximum: 27 years
