National Testing Agency (NTA) manages the JIPMAT exam 2026, which is a national-level examination that gives successful applicants access to IIM Bodh Gaya and IIM Jammu’s 5-year integrated BBA + MBA programmes. The JIPMAT exam consists of 3 sections, it helps to examine different kinds of skills of the candidates who appear for JIPMAT. A detailed breakdown of each section is below.

Quantitative Aptitude (QA)

This section measures your mathematical competency and your number reasoning skills through different question types such as arithmetic, algebra, geometry, number systems from the quantitative syllabus of classes X and XI.

JIPMAT Exam Duration 2026

The JIPMAT examination will be conducted over a period of two hours and thirty minutes. That is, a total of 150 minutes will be available for the JIPMAT examination.

Distribution of Time in JIPMAT Exam

The JIPMAT examination has no sectional timing limitations and allows you to freely travel from section to section within the one hundred-fifty minute (150) overall time limit of this test. This is a major advantage to those who take the time to properly plan their approach to the exam.

JIPMAT Marking Scheme 2026

The Marking scheme for JIPMAT 2026 will utilise the following marking scheme, as follows:

Right Answer: +4 Marks per question

Wrong Answer: -1 Mark per question for negative marking

Unanswered Question: 0 Marks

To avoid negative points for incorrect answers in the forthcoming JIPMAT 2026 exam, you must maintain an accuracy-based approach while answering the questions. Furthermore, don't answer the questions with random guessing without reasoning, it severely affect the overall score for the examination.

How Many Questions in JIPMAT 2026?

JIPMAT exam 2026 contains 100 questions to be completed in 150 minutes.

The 100 questions with a possible 150 minutes to answer may appear to offer a fair amount of time (1.5 minutes per question); however, don’t be misled by this perception. The difficulty level for JIPMAT has been steadily increasing. As an example, the Verbal section will generally take less time than the QA & DILR sections, which contain problems requiring multiple-calculations with careful attention.

Is There Any Change in JIPMAT Exam Pattern 2026?

The answer in simple words is No. The upcoming JIPMAT exam has no major changes in the exam pattern, since the NTA has released the latest notification for the 2026 JIPMAT and as of this writing, it looks virtually the same as last year. The number of multiple choice (100 questions) and time period (150 minutes) will not change.

But there may be an additional factor to consider in terms of difficulty level and complexity of the questions. Based on previous years' reviews there appears to be an increase in the complexity of Data Interpretations and the nuances found within the passages in Reading Comprehension.
