IPMAT 30 Days Preparation Plan 2026

The Integrated Programme in Management Aptitude Test (IPMAT) is your best chance for achieving a career in management straight after 12th standard. The IPMAT Indore examination will take place on May 4, 2026, followed by the IPMAT Rohtak exam on May 10, 2026, which means you are left with around 30 days in hand for preparation. In these 30 final preparation days, you should focus on revision of important topics and mock-based learning rather than simply covering the entire syllabus. Your aim is not to be learning from the start but rather to build on what you already know by strengthening your concepts and identifying the areas of improvement.

This article gives the detailed IPMAT 30 days preparation strategy 2026 which includes daily study schedule, section-wise preparation strategy with focus study plan and common mistakes to avoid.

Daily Study Schedule for IPMAT in 30 Days

Since you only have 30 days to prepare for the IPMAT 2026 , this should be considered as a full-time position in which you will study for at least 7-8 hours.

These are the few things that you need to do daily to score well in the exam:

Solve at least 30 Quant questions covering one topic per day, rotate between Arithmetic, Algebra, Number System, and Geometry so every area gets covered before the exam.

Read 2-3 RC passages and learn 10 new words, this keeps your reading speed sharp and builds the vocabulary needed for the Verbal section consistently.

Revise one formula sheet or grammar rule set for 15 minutes, short daily revision helps in keeping concepts fresh and you will be able to remember the formulas in the exam. You can revise formulas from the IPMAT formula PDF

Attempt timed sectional tests in the last 10 days, track your accuracy and speed every day so you walk into the exam knowing exactly where you stand.

IPMAT 30 Days Section-Wise Preparation Strategy

A distinct preparation strategy will be needed for each section of the IPMAT. Below is how to approach each of them:

Quantitative Ability (MCQ and Short Answer):

IIM Indore has divided the Quant section into two parts which are Multiple choice questions (MCQ) and Short Answer (SA).

Arithmetic: An emphasis on Arithmetic is required here, i.e. Percentages, Profit and Loss, SI/CI and Time/Speed/Distance form the majority of this paper.

Some of the other important tested topics that candidates should focus on are Algebra, geometry, permutation and combination.

In this section, candidates should focus more on accuracy because it is more important than attempting every question and you should memorize and revise the formulas every day. Create a topic-wise checklist for each subject. Spend at least 3-4 hours daily on quant concepts with practice.

    SA Section:

You should use the SA section to your advantage; i.e. there are no negative marks for SA questions so have a full-on strategy to try every question. For this section, you should practise the SA questions daily to get a high score.

    Verbal Ability (VA):

The VA section assesses your reading comprehension abilities rather than just your "Vocabulary." To achieve an excellent score you must be able to practise RC questions daily and focus on the tone and main idea of the passage.

Verbal Logic: Master Para Jumbles and Sentence Completion and get a higher score through the logical flow of sentences.

Grammar and Error Spotting/Sentence Correction: Using a "Rule-Based" Method for Grammar and error spotting/sentence correction will improve your score dramatically. The candidates should focus on the elimination techniques.

    Section-Wise 30-Day Focus Plan

The IPMAT candidates should have section wise focus plan for 30 days to ensure you cover the whole syllabus systematically, The table below gives 30-day section wise focus plan:

    Phase

    Duration

    Focus Area

    Phase 1

    Days 1-7

    Foundation & Concept Revision

    Phase 2

    Days 8-15

    Intensive Practice + Sectional Tests

    Phase 3

    Days 16-23

    Full-Length Mocks + Analysis

    Phase 4

    Days 24-30

    Final Revision + Accuracy Boost

Phase I (Days 1-7): Foundation & Concept Revision:

During the first two weeks of this segment, you will solidify your fundamental concepts and improve your speed and confidence by understanding the depth of the concepts rather than memorizing formulas and when to apply them.

All of the important topics for Quantitative Reasoning should be completed during this segment - Arithmetic, Algebra, and Modern Math/Geometry cannot be left uncompleted!

Additionally, complete your development of the foundational blocks for the Reading Comprehension (RC), grammar, and vocabulary (root words and mnemonics) sections of the test.

Phase II (Days 8-15): Intensive Practice & Sectional Tests:

Sectional Mocks should be your main focus here. Identify which section of the test has the most negative impact on your total score and practice that section by timing yourself and building your brain's tolerance to working against a time limit.

Keep a notebook dedicated to logging all of your shortcuts, mistakes, and related rules.

Also, concentrate on developing your mental math and employ some Vedic Math to improve your speed for calculations.

Phase III (Days 16-23): Full-Length Mocks & Analysis:

This phase is where you will complete the transition from learning to performing at a higher level due to the time pressure of an actual test.

You will take an IPMAT mock test exam every other day (3-4 tests) within an actual test time constraint.

When you complete the mock exam, you need to analyze the results of your performance. This includes looking for questions where you took the longest time to respond and sections of the exam where you had the most errors.

Record the errors you made and go back and review the material related to those errors on the same day that you perform your analysis. Also, include in your analysis a review of all IPMAT Previous Year Papers.

Phase 4 (Days 24-30): Final Revision:

Revise the formula and review the error log. Every day, start with a brief speed test (10-15 questions in 15 minutes). Increase your accuracy rate, aiming for 80%+ accuracy. Practice doing simple math in your head, without writing down every step.

Common Mistakes to Avoid in the Last 30 Days

Ignoring the Analysis: Focus on the negative analysis of your previous mock exams, after each mock exam (not before). For example, if you complete a mock exam in two hours, then you should take no less than three hours to perform a negative analysis of that mock exam.

Do Not Get Emotional Attached to Specific Questions: A geometry question should never take you more than two minutes. Likewise, some questions are more challenging than others. As such, you should not have the egos of a few questions ruin your percentile.

Ignoring Sectional Cut-offs: IIM Indore has strict sectional cut-offs. You must clear the sectional cutoffs to get admission through IPMAT. So you should ignore any sections and give equal importance to all sections to cross the sectional cut-off.

Ignoring the SA Section: In terms of formatting, the SA section is very similar to both Mains and the IPMAT exam. However, in mocks, many candidates eliminate the SA section because it feels "harder" and as such, they just write down the answer. Treatment of the SA section as hard gives you a huge competitive advantage because the SA section is not penalized for incorrect answers.

Falling for Difficult Questions: There is no point to completing very advanced level CAT-style practice questions that occasionally you will receive very advanced/high-level IPMAT questions). You should focus solely on the IPMAT level questions.

Burnout: Studying 15 hours a day for the first week and then quitting is a recipe for failure. Maintain a sustainable pace and get at least 7 hours of sleep.
