Introduction

Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) conducts an online examination to recruit Probationary Officers (PO) for various Public Sector banks in India.

The IBPS PO 2022 Notification is released in August 2022 by IBPS.

Eligibility

Educational Qualification

The candidates must have a graduate in any discipline from a recognised institute.

Age limit

Minimum: 20 Years

Maximum: 30 years

20-30 years (Both Inclusive) as on 01.08.2022

Age Relaxation:

PWD (General) Category: 10 years

OBC Category: 3 years

ST/SC Category: 5 years

Syllabus

The IBPS PO examination consists of the following sections/areas.

  1. English Language
  2. Quantitative Aptitude
  3. Reasoning
  4. Computer knowledge
  5. Data Interpretation
  6. General Awareness with special reference to Banking industry

Exam Pattern

Preliminary Exam

The preliminary exam is of objective type with 3 sections and a composite time of 1 hour. 

Every question carries equal marks (1 mark) and ¼ marks will be penalised for every wrong answer.

1/4 of the total mark assigned to that question will be penalised for every wrong answer in the mains exam.

Candidate must clear the cut off three sections. 

Salary

The basic pay of a IBPS bank PO is Rs. 23,700. Dearness allowance is decided based on Consumer Price Index.

The housing rent allowance is 9% or 8% or 7% depending on the place of posting. 

The in hand salary varies from Rs. 33,000 to Rs. 42,000 depending on the location of posting.
