XLRI Jamshedpur is one of the oldest B-schools in India, was founded in 1949 by a few visionary Jesuit Fathers to bring a change to the economy and society at large. The institute always aims to be a management school with a difference. This year the XLRI total seats are intaken about 357. PGDM – Postgraduation of Diploma in Management is the flagship program of this institution, and the specialization areas of the course are Business Management (BM) and Human Resource Management (HRM). XLRI Selection Criteria for PGDM (HRM & BM) Programmes
The selection process for both the PGDM-HRM and the PGDM-BM programmes is the same. And the selection process will be done in three stages. Let us see each stage in detail.
Stage-1:
In this stage, the candidates must register for the entrance exams XAT / GMAT/ GRE. Indian candidates can register through the XAT exam and the foreign and NRI candidates can register through GMAT/GRE.
- For Indian candidates the registration fee for XAT is Rs. 1800/- and Rs 300/- each for every additional programme of XLRI.
- For NRI candidates registering through XAT the registration fee is Rs. 5000/- (for one or more programmes)
- Indian candidate through GMAT / GRE Rs. 2500/- (only for Ex-PGDM)

Stage-2:
This is a shortlisting stage, where the candidates who have taken the XAT/GMAT/GRE exams will be shortlisted and the list of the shortlisted candidates will be released at the end of January. While preparing the shortlisted candidates for the interview, in addition to XAT performance, they may factor in the academic background and relevant work experience of the candidates. Those who apply for more than one programme may be called for multiple interviews and/or group discussions which is nothing but the final stage of the selection process of XLRI.
Stage-3:Â
As mentioned before, besides performance in the personal interviews or group discussions, they will also consider XAT performance, relevant work experience, academic background, and extracurricular activities while preparing the final list. The interview for the candidates through XAT and GMAT will be conducted between mid-February.
