There is no prescribed official CAT Exam Syllabus released by IIMs. However, analysis of all the past year papers have helped us understand the recurrent topics across the years. This article focuses on CAT Quant Marks Distribution so that you are aware of which topics need more attention than others. We will break down the entire CAT quant syllabus into smaller concepts such as Profit Loss Interest, Number Systems and analyze which areas need more focus.
In the QA section, there are a few topics are extremely crucial & repeated every year in the CAT exam. Some of the most important syllabus topics for CAT 2024 with their weightages in previous year CAT exams are given below.
CAT Topic Wise Weightage 2025
CAT 2025 saw a similar trend as past years when it comes to Weightage given to different topics of the quant section. This year also the majority of the questions came from arithmetic and algebra. The detailed topic wise distribution is given in the table below:
