Study the following information to answer the given questions.
In a six storeyed building the ground floor is numbered one, the floor above it is numbered two and so on such that the topmost floor is numbered six. One out of six people viz, A, B, C, D, E and F lives on each floor.
No one lives between C and F. There are two floors between the floors on which A and D live. A lives on floor above the floor on which D lives. E lives on odd numbered floor. B does not live on a floor immediately above or below E’s floor.
Who lives immediately above D’s floor?
Looking at the ques, we have the following information :-
C and F live together (in any order)
A and D have 2 floors between them with A living above D.
E lives on an odd numbered Floor and is not an immediate neighbor of B.
Lets create cases based on these ques :-
Now, since C and F have to be immediate neighbors and E and B are not immediate neighbors, both the Case-1 and Case-3 need to be rejected.
Thus Case-2 is the only possibility
Lets proceed with Case-2.
The ques say that E lives in an odd numbered floor and C and F live together, this E can only live in the ground floor (as C and F would be living in 3rd and 4th numbered floors)
Hence B would be living in the floor numbered 6.
Hence the possible scenarios are:-
As clear from the table above, both C and F can live immediately above D. Hence the answer for this question is (E), cannot be determined.
