A leakage was caused which would empty the full tank completely in ‘x’ hours when no inlet is open. Now, when only inlet A was opened, it took 3 hours to fill the empty tank completely. How much time will B alone take to fill the empty tank completely? (in hours)
Let the capacity of the tank be 6 litres.
A's efficiency = 3 litre/hr
B's efficiency = 2 litre/hr
With leakage A's efficiency = 2 litre/hr
$$\Rightarrow$$ Leakage's efficiency = 1 litre/hr
With leakage B will take = $$\frac{6}{2 - 1}$$ = 6 hours
