The average of seven numbers is 10. The average of first five numbers is 10. Then what is average of remaining two numbers?
Solution
Sum of the 7 numbers=S7=Avg of the seven numbers x 7=10x7=70
sum of first 5 numbers=S5=10x5=50
Thus the sum of the next 2 numbers=S7-S5=70-50=20
Therefore, average of the remaining 2 numbers = S2/2 =20/2=10
