Seats for Maths, Physics and Biology are in the ratio of 5:7:8 respectively. There is a proposal to increase these seats by 40% 50% and 75% respectively. What will be the respective ratio of increased seats ?

Let the original number of seats in Maths, Physics and Biology be 5X, 7X and 8X.
So, the respective increases in seats equals 5X*0.4, 7X*0.5 and 8X*0.75
That is 2X, 3.5X and 6X

Hence, the final number of seats equals 5X+2X,7X+3.5X and 8X+6X = 7X,10.5X,14X
So, the final ratio is 7:10.5:14 = 2:3:4
