The sum of the squares of two positive integers is 100 and the difference of their squares is 28. The sum of the numbers is

Let the integers be x and y.
x^2+y^2 = 100
x^2 - y^2 = 28
2x^2 = 128
x^2 = 64
x = 8
Therefore, y=6
x+y = 8+6 =14
Therefore, the correct option is option C.
