Question 77

Which of these fractions cannot be reduced further?
$$\frac{14}{21}, \frac{33}{43}, \frac{18}{24}, \frac{92}{24}, \frac{41}{82}$$

Solution

$$ \frac{14}{21} = \frac{2 \times 7}{3 \times 7} $$ , solving we get $$ \frac{14}{21} = \frac{2}{3} $$

$$ \frac{18}{24} = \frac{6 \times 3}{8 \times 3} $$, solving we get $$ \frac{18}{24 }= \frac{3}{4} $$

$$ \frac{92}{24} = \frac{23 \times 4}{6 \times 4} $$,solving we get $$ \frac{92}{24} = \frac{23}{6} $$

$$ \frac{41}{82} = \frac{1 \times 41}{2 \times 41} $$, solving we get $$ \frac{41}{82} = \frac{1}{2} $$

Both 33 and 43 are prime numbers thus cannot be reduced further
