e: if x = y or the relationship cannot be established.

I. $$8x^{2}+18x+9=0$$
II. $$4y^{2}+19y+21=0$$

Solution

$$8x^2+18x+9 = 0$$
$$(4x+3)(2x+3) = 0$$
$$x = -\frac{3}{2}, -\frac{3}{4}$$

$$4y^2+19y+21 = 0$$
$$(4y+7)(y+3) = 0$$
$$y = -3, -\frac{7}{4}$$
