A truck covers a certain distance in 12 h at the speed of 70 km/h. What is the average speed of a car which travels a distance of 120 km more than the truck in the same time ?
Solution
The distance travelled by the truck in 12 hours equals 12*70 = 840 km
Hence, the car travels 840 + 120 = 960 kms in 12 hours.
So, the average speed of the car equals $$\frac{960}{12} = 80$$ kmph
