Instructions

In a certain instructions system the different computation process are written as follows:
(a) x $ y % means z is multiplied by the sum of x and y
(b) x # y * z means that when y is subtracted from x and the resultant is divided by z
(c) x @ y © z means x is added to the resultant when y is divided by z
(d) x • y $$\lambda$$ z means x is subtracted from the product of Y and z.
In each of the questions below, a set of instruction sequence is given. You are required to find out to outcome which should come in the place of the question mark (?) in each of the given sets of sequence.

Question 65

(i) 80 • 15 $$\lambda$$ 8 = ?
(ii) t $ 5 % 8 = ?

Solution

Using (d), 80 • 15 $$\lambda$$ 8 = (15 * 8) - 80

=> t = 40

Using (a), t $ 5 % 8 = (40 + 5) * 8

= 45*8 = 360

We need to check with each options, and the option with result 360 is the required answer.

(A) : 40 # 40 * 10 = $$\frac{40 - 40}{10}$$ = 0

(B) : 40 $ 40 % 10 = (40 + 40) * 10 = 800

(C) : 40 @ 40 © 10 = 40 + $$\frac{40}{10}$$ = 44

(D) : 40 • 40 $$\lambda$$ 10 = (40 * 20) - 40 = 360

Thus, Ans - (D)
