What is the largest size of square tiles that can be used to cover the floor of a room of size $$5.25 m \times 4.55 m$$?

Solution

The HCF of 525cm and 455. Because the size of the square tile should be such that it must divide both the length and breadth of the room, then only we can use complete tiles.

$$525 = 5 \times5\times 7\times 3$$

$$455 = 13\times 7\times 5$$

HCF is $$7\times5 = 35.$$

Option B is correct.
