Roshan’s current age is three years less than 1.5 times that of Usha’s. 12 years ago Usha’s age was three years more than half of Roshan’s age. What is Roshan’s present age in years?

current age usha = x

Current age of Roshan = 1.5x  - 3

12years ago Rosha's age = 1.5x - 3 - 12 = 1.5x - 15

12 years ago usha's age = 3 + 1/2 (1.5x - 15)

Also, we have usha's age 12 years ago =  x - 12

=> x-12 = 3 + 1/2 (1.5x - 15)

2x - 24   = 6 + 1.5x - 15

2x - 24 = 1.5x - 9

0.5x = 24- 9

0.5x = 15

x =15/0.5 = 30

Roshan's current age = 1.5x  - 3 = 45 - 3 =42years
