A wooden block of mass m; kg accelerates at $$Â 10 ms^{-2} $$ when a force of 5 N acts on it. Another block of mass mp kg accelerates at $$ 20 ms^{-2}$$ when the same force acts on it. If both the blocks are tied together and the same force acts on their combination, the acceleration will be about:
Force = Mass $$\times$$ Acceleration
For 1st body ,
mass = $$\frac{5}{10}$$ = 0.5 kg
For 2nd body ,
mass = $$\frac{5}{20}$$ = 0.25 kg
Total mass = 0.5 + 0.25 = 0.75kg
Acceleration = $$\frac{5}{.75}$$ = $$ 6.67 ms^{-2} $$.
So, the answer would be option a)$$ 6.67 ms^{-2} $$
