By what percent approximately is the number of boys studying in all four courses of the college in the year 2011 less than that of the girl students studying in all four courses in the same year ?
Solution
Total number of boys in 2011 = (820 - 553) + (1200 - 660) + (900 - 360) + (860 - 602)
= 267 + 540 + 540 + 258 = 1605
Total number of girls in 2011 = 553 + 660 + 360 + 602 = 2175
=> Required % = $$\frac{2175 - 1605}{2175} * 100$$
= $$\frac{57000}{2175} = 26.20$$% ~ 26%
