Total number of boys studying in all four courses of the college in the year 2010
= (840 - 378) + (1200 - 660) + (952 - 342) + (900 - 540)
= 462 + 540 + 610 + 360 = 1972
=> Average = $$\frac{1972}{4}$$ = 493
