Question 28

Nurse Kemp has worked more night shifts in a row than Nurse Rogers, who has worked five. Nurse Miller has worked fifteen night shifts in a row, more than Nurses Kemp and Rogers combined. Nurse Calvin has worked eight night shifts in a row, less than Nurse Kemp. How many night shifts in a row has Nurse Kemp worked?

Let the number of night shifts done in a row by Nurse Kemp, Nurse Rogers, Nurse Miller be X ,Y ,Z respectively :
Given that :
Y = 5 & X > Y ....this implies X > 5
Z = 15 & Z > X+Y ....this implies 15 > X + 5... Therefore X < 10

Hence, it implies X can be {6,7,8,9}.

Nurse Calvin has worked eight night shifts in a row, less than Nurse Kemp, This implies that X > 8

Therefore 'X" will be equal to 9.
