A rectangular carpet has an area of 120 m$$^2$$ and a perimeter of 46 m. Find the length of its diagonal.

Solution

Let say, length and breadth of rectangular carpet are l and b.

So, $$lb=120$$

and, $$2(l+b)=46$$

or, (l+b)=23.

So, $$l=15 and b=8$$ is only combination possible.

So, length of it's diagonal=

$$√(15^2 + 8^2)$$=17 m.

D is correct choice.
