F sits second to the right of D. D is not an immediate neighbour of A or E. H and C are immediate neighbours of each other, F is not an immediate neighbour of his wife B,

Question 233

How many people sit between B and F when counted in anti-clockwise direction from B ?

Solution

A is wife of H and B is the wife of F, => A and B are females, while H and F are males.

A sits third to the left of E, => alternate positions are taken by males and females since no two males or two females are immediate neighbours of each other.

F sits second to the right of D, => D is also a male.

D is not an immediate neighbour of A or E, => D sits 2nd to the right of E and F sits to the immediate left of A. Thus, the remaining male position is taken by H, i.e. to the immediate right of A.

H and C are immediate neighbours of each other, => C sits between E and H.

F is not an immediate neighbour of his wife B, => B sits between E and D, thus G sits to the immediate right of D.

2 people sit between B and F when counted in anti-clockwise direction from B.

=> Ans - (B)
