An incident ray strikes a plane mirror at an angle of $$20^\circ$$ with the mirror. The angle between the incident ray and reflected ray is ............

Solution

As we know that angle between normal and incident ray is called "angle of incidence".
The angle between reflected ray and normal is called as "angle of reflection".
As angle of reflection is equal to angle of incidence.
Hence,
angle between reflected ray and incidence ray = angle of incidence + angle of reflection
Therefore, 20° + 20° = 40°
