The average of five numbers is 50.8. The average of the first and the second numbers is 29. The average of the fourth and the fifth numbers is 66.5. What is the third number ?
Solution
Given,
$$\frac{a+b+c+d+e}{5}$$ = 50.8
a+b+c+d+e = 254
Also $$\frac{a+b}{2}$$=29
a+b= 58
d+e= 133
c=254-58-133=63
